You probably wouldn’t be able to tell from my picture, but I’m what’s known as a “nerd.” Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, because I’m actually proud of who I am. The only thing wrong with this is that people all seem to have different ways to define a “nerd.” Rather than spark the age-old geek vs nerd debate, I’m just going to say what defines me; you can pick from there.
Currently, I am attending Clarkson University majoring in Computer Engineering planning to have three minors: Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering & Mathematics. I almost didn’t do any of that because I love physics, though. So I decided to keep physics as a hobby on the side, possibly pursue it in grad school. I have some other hobbies here as well. In my free time I do research on advanced programming, for basic video games and such. I also like to make music and write. I haven’t shared much of my music or writing because I’ve always felt it was pointless, but now I’ve started sharing some of my writing right here on this very blog. Maybe when I get a little bit better, I will share some music too.
If all that wasn’t enough, I do a lot of extracurriculars here as well. After playing volleyball for about 7 years, coming to Clarkson was a bit of a disappointment because there is no real intercollegiate team. We do have a club team though, and so I play on the club team. I almost didn’t attend Clarkson due to this reason alone. But on top of the club volleyball team, I am also a part of the Clarkson Table Tennis Club. We attend tournaments here and there, though I personally only attended one. I even won a match which was really nice.
Okay, now I’m gunna start talking about some other things I like. Just as anyone else really, I do enjoy television. I find myself pretty dedicated to the British show Doctor Who and the other British show Top Gear. I also seem to dedicate myself to video games, but more specifically to RPGs because I find the story and strategy required to win much more mentally stimulating than just the classic “beat-em-ups.” I usually play on PC because it’s superior to consoles, but I also have consoles for the exclusives.
Yeah I’m kinda running out of things to say because I usually don’t talk about myself much if at all. So I may update this at a later point, or just make normal blog posts
